Through the Eye of the Storm by Stormy Monday
I walked away from life for quite awhile. I kicked it like drifting sand on a beach. There were old cans and broken bottles, but, I paid them no mind. I leaned on broken fences and stared through shattered glass for, far too many years.
People tried to know me, but, I didn’t know who they were trying to meet. One day a Doctor said to me, say goodbye, you’re dying. That night, as I slept, I dreamed and the sand formed little trails around my feet. The cans and broken bottles were like little life boats and my fingers were covered in blood. My hands and arms grew heavy from their weight. The fences were brand new and through a very clear window… I could see my soul.
